In Transition

Kakak's Wedding

let the pictures tell its story.

The celebration for Kakak's wedding started on Thursday, 15th march 2007 with the solemnisation ceremony. It's also the groom's birthday *himself celebrated his the day before. hehe. in the future there will be 6 pisceans in the family!*. Tears of joys and sadness flowed freely especially during the sakinah, which symbolized the 'handover' of the bride from the parents to the groom, the transition of responsibility from being a daughter to a wife.

Syahduuuuu..

The celebration continued on Saturday, with the reception at the bride's side, a garden wedding of which Kakak has always wanted. It was a very colourful wedding indeed, with bright colours that reflect the joyous moods.

On Sunday, sesi bertandang to Singapore. Our jaws dropped seeing a convertible merc arrived, at Cik Apit's block; complete with 'Just Married' sign at the back of the car. Warghhh... suited for the King and the Queen of the day. Intimate but grand wedding at the groom's side.

The cake hantaran in the making.

For the kek hantaran, it was a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream, and later covered with specially made *i made it myself!* chocolate marshmallow fondant. I searched highs and lows for the recipes, as i wanted the fondant not only to look pretty but edible as well. Since the fondant is soft, it's very easy to work with and very forgiving.

The cake wasn't bakery-perfect though. It had some blemishes and open pores and even numerous thumb prints contributed by curious kids *haha*. seems eveyrone wanted to contribute something huh? hehe. but with Ucu's helps, none of the imperfection could be seen, only bEeautifuLLL cake made with LuUrVvvVeeee for Kakak. =) it's the thought that counts right?

the cupcakes

These are the only pictures i have in my collection. Punyelah sibuk, lupe nak ambil the finish product which looked 10 times better than what i have. hehe. have to wait for the pictures from the official photographers. The mocha cupcakes are topped with vanilla buttercream tinted with orange and burgundy, to match the colourful theme.

3 days and 3 nights works, making 300 cupcakes. Without Adik's and K Noha's helps, i surely would die standing lahh.. hehe.

Now the question everyone keep asking, who's going to make the cakes for my wedding?

Any takers?
