Yes, pls allow me to do so!!!
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I've been told by my coursemate, MLIS postgraduate (for course and dissertation) are only eligible for rm450 PER SEMESTER for research grant. PER SEMESTER!!! for 6 MONTHS we only get rm450!!!! sekali je..
Kakak wonders why only now they offered us the grant. EXACTLY! dari mula buat master sampai da nak abis ni, baru they allocate minute amount for us.minute. minute. minute. miniscule. and those money came from 50% of our research fees. haaaa.... abis tu before this mane research fees kitorg semua pegi?? hmmmm.
we do the same amount of work like anyone who's doing their research. the travelling expenses - fuel consumption, parking fees; living expenses - we have to eat dont we??; the stationeries used -pens, papers, files and folders; photocopying fees - hundreds pages of journal articles, questionnaires, thesis drafts, reference articles; not to mention the printer ink, RM100 a piece is not cheap mind you.
In addition, we could include an allocation for equipments used. But with a mere rm450, what equipment could we buy?? I initially thought i would like to use a tape recorder during the interview sessions with the kids. That alone would cost me rm300 a piece? What about data storage?
RM450 IS TOTALLY NOT ENOUGH!!
and if they dare to questions the outcome of my study later, all i have to say is - FINANCIAL CONSTRAINTS.
grrrrr!
