sociometric analysis

the meeting w prof zainab was fruitful. at first, i was a bit intimidated by her. being knowledgable n all.. she has dat 'dont mess w me' kinda look. but once u know her.. the conversation will flow freely.. u cant help but to hv upmost respect for her..
n she's quite talkative too.. ;)
she gave me another book to read on sociometric analysis. another suggested method dat i cud use for my thesis. btw, im going to do a reasearch on 'how children select book in public library - observation n interview'. it's very interesting n she said dat if i managed to perform well on dis project, mine wud be the first research done on this matter n oso the first to apply grounded theory/sociometric analysis for library n info science research.
wow.. i really don want to mess this one lk i did for my bachelor degree..
she was qually excited when i told her dat i wud want to apply the same method but on diff subject.. i mean do the same observation in s'pore n m'sia library to see the diff.. since... in my personal n humble opinion.. m'sian children went to library mostly to socialize - meet up w friends.. n play ard.. plus most of the lib here is not easily accessible.. the location etc.. while in s'pore the lib is as conveniently located as the shopping complexes.. n it's lk a second nature for them to visit the lib.. evn in the mrt.. i cud c the parents wud describe the book dat they've selected.. oh n their library is wayyy cool than what we hv here.. hehe..
she wanted me to start with literature reviw - do A LOT of reading on above subjects from various sources.. e journals.. journals frm diff libraries.. etc etc.. dis is when broadband comes in handy.. imagine trying to download pages of articles on dial-up.. *yawn*
finally i managed to meet up w lemy. surely he has lost a lot of weight!! but he's all well now. he was involved in an accident last december. he was riding his bike, made his way for friday prayer when he was hit by a car. his right thigh was broken in 2 places.. n he has to postpone his studies by 1 sem.. felt gd to met him since i didnt get to visit him while he was in hosp.. my buddy2 during my master course.. i used to envy him for his brilliance while doing my degree.. he he. my pantang - xleh jumpe org laki yg bijak gile.. msti jaki gile.. haha
we had a really long talk.. abt his future plans.. current gossips (his gossip partner is none other than prof zainab herself!! hehe) abt wat he learned while recuperating.. n he adviced me to come to sch often so dat my mind wud be active.. (aftr i told him abt my bengapness i.e the lib incident n the sms thingy).. ai ai sir!! then u must treat me lunch!!
the day went well 4 me.. (tp msh melankolika).. i guess i shud get started w my thesis!
