Engagement
Monday, December 19, 2005
It was saturday, with what initially planned as an intimate and simple engagement affair - guests of 20 with 'ala-kadar' spread, yak-yak and sarung cincin; has turned into a 'meriah' engagement event by our standard. oh, before any of you get confused, it wasn't my engagement (yet!), it was Kakak's.
There were berdulang2 of hantarans from the man's side, complete with sirihs, cake, jelly, pulut, chocs and etc etc, but we only prepared two baskets - one for fruits, flowers and cakes (all in one) and another a personal gift from Kakak to him - a ring, a set of Quran and perfumes. We didn't expect that many guests (and hantaran). If we did, we would called up our entourage all the way from KL! hehe. Everything was done in a last minute manners. We even called the mak andam the night before, in the car on our way back to jb. And I even went out with my bro (1 hour before the majlis) ordering 20 pieces of murtabak kg melayu, buying boxes of mineral water, packets of frozen samosas and curry puffs; in addition to lontong kering that we have ordered plus for desserts; mango puddings (made by yours truly of course) and fruit cocktails ( kak noha's concoction). Alhamdulillah everything turned out smoothly, the guests went back with full tummy(ies).
One advice for Kakak though, there's a plenty of time for you to practise ketawa sopan instead of breaking into BIG guffaws okeh? ;)

This were what we've prepared and gave away
And THIS were what we received!! Generous indeed! (pardon the selerak bit in the background. Told you it's a LAST minute affair. kemas mana yg sempat. muerhaha)

i agreed with the ketawa sopan tu...kena latih kakak lepas nih! kalau tak, kakak akan jadi pengantin pertama yg 'cukup' ceria atas pelamin nanti...
